I spent this last weekend tromping around Three Forks at their annual rodeo held every July in town. It had been a few years since I’d been out and I decided to spend Friday and Saturday capturing just one of many great Montana rodeos. I really enjoy how each town’s rodeo has it’s own unique feel to it and it’s always a blast to get to hang out with folks who know how to have a good time.

Both days were great with some good rides and lots of action. Saturday was a little brutal with temps in the mid 90′s and not a lot of shade. I will be covering a few more before the summer is over, so there will be some more pics coming. In the meantime I will be out on the road and working quite a bit these next couple weeks, so I thought I would give you a bunch of shots from this rodeo and will have a new post up as soon as I can get to it.

It’s been a couple weeks since my last post and I was determined today to get a few pics up from my trip last week to Glacier. This time of year my schedule is pretty busy and so getting to the blog has been a bit of challenge. It seems like getting anything computer-wise accomplished is a slow endeavor.
However next week I should have some more stuff from upcoming Montana rodeos and some central Montana landscapes. I will also be revamping the blog and hopefully we will have a new design up and going in the next week or so.
Until then, I hope everyone is enjoying themselves and getting out in this awesome Montana summer we are having.

If you haven’t been to a Montana Rodeo, I don’t think there could be one that’s more down-home than the American Legion Rodeo held in Augusta Montana. This is one wild Rodeo, and from what I’ve been told, it’s actually calmed down a bit from what it used to be. Driving down main street is tricky, especially navigating your way through enthusiastic folks drinking, eating and having way too good a time.

I was doing some photography this weekend up on the Rocky Mountain Front and decided to head over to Augusta to photograph some of the Rodeo. Having been my first time there I was amazed at how packed Augusta was. Normally this small Montana town is pretty laid back and quiet along main street, but during the Rodeo it’s quite a different story. Lets just say that the folks that show up for this Rodeo, expect to have some serious Montana fun.
If you are interested in hitting some of Montana’s Rodeos this summer, check out Travel Montana’s schedule to see what’s coming up.
